I agree that looks like a louse of some kind.

Blimey, with that much water I guess it's lucky you didn't lose more! A bit of fine tuning is always needed with DIY sumps (so I've read). Any more thoughts on increasing your hardscaping?

I'm not sure if this is available in the US but I use a Sera 50W heater in my 30 litre tank. It would also be fine for a 10G.
Pro: It's small and has thermostatic control (and it's pretty...

Good suggestions so far. I was going to suggest the same that Compass and SueD have mentioned.
Be aware that hygrophila sunset only goes red in very high light (as does Ludwigia repens - which I...

Really? Can you tell me where you did your research as the water hardness requirements of these fish are at the opposite ends of the scale, as are the pH requirements.

Is the ADA range of substrate systems available to you?

Why are you mixing red juwel cichlids with mbuna? These fish have totally opposing water requirements. Mbuna are an African rift lake fish that require very hard, alkaline water. Juwel cichlids are...

Gah - and my awesome rant about ethics was never replied to was it? Darn it.

I frequently call people out on this and I'm not going to stop here. Why do you feel the need to use my gender as a put down? Would you do it for race as well or is it just women you have a problem...

That plant looks like a species of Ludwigia to me.

I agree with dutchie - crytocoryne species often melt when upset (even a little bit) but I'm sure it will soon bounce back. Don't disturb the plant too much but try to remove any completely melted...

Looks like hair algae to me. Not uncommon in new set ups. A few questions:
Are you cycling it at the moment?
How long are the lights on?
Are you dosing any fertiliser?
Are you changing any water?

A true international sport. :ssmile: A million times better than your padded-up, stop/start, yankee-footie
Actually, even rugby is better than your football :14:

You could add some shrimp but your betta may pick on them. Don't keep otocinclus catfish alone - they are social fish and should be in groups. I would keep kuhli loaches alone either.
Personally I...

Multis will dig and "scape" your tank for you so plants might get uprooted. You can secure a few plants in corners with a rock and they'll be ok. The important thing with multis is to provide more...

Great looking fish there Cliff (but clean your glass!)

No...true. Although I'm thinking if it strangles itself I'll be dealing with a big die back. Maybe I'm just looking for problems.

Not sure anyone on here will know this one.

The dance at 0:14  Love it.

I think you could get away with that stocking, although the gourami would be a bit squeezed for turning space. They are normally kept in worse conditions and are pretty hardy. Full of personality so...

Finally got a photo of the root-bound bit.

And a close up of the slightly root-bound lawn. I still can't believe this is vallisneria - it stands...

Cut the lawn this week.

Willow moss is doing well.

You can stack several pieces together and they will look like the same piece of wood. I've done this in my large tank and you'd never know they were separate pieces whilst you're sat in front of it....
