Yah, LFS worker are not paid well and it's sad that animals die over it.
Glad for all your experience and help for free!
I have a new baby and have been watching children's shows for the first time...

Thanks y'all. I do have API kits for nitrite, nitrate and ammonia. They always come out fine but still I knew there was something wrong recently.
Anywhoo, I've put my filter back together per your...

I cannot seem to find any definitive information on what order to put the media in the baskets for a Fluval 205 in. Not on their website nor several searches here. Maybe it doesn't...
OK, thanks y'all. I've taken this all into consideration and am having a professional check our water. In the meantime I'm attacking the algae problem per the LFS with a siamese algae eater (who is...
We recently moved to the country from the city where we have well water that has really heavy iron and iron bacteria. To keep the water clear and soft we have a water softener and since we moved I...
Thanks. I guess I was making it too hard, didn't know there is just a plain green algae!
I combined a treatment of 35% hydrogen peroxide (really hard to find in that strength) and salt and...
I've been hunting around on the AC and online but I'm not sure what algae this is.
I have white aquarium rocks, so while the algae problem isn't too bad, it shows up really obviously and doesn't...

I bought a big bag of Eco Complete with dreams of getting a larger tank soon.
Now, we're moving so it will have to wait a month or two:kermit: .
Also, I did use some of it in a small tank...
Nothing has changed in my tank, I'm pretty consistent. I do think it is just overgrown!
FREE FLOATING PLANTS IN EDMONTON ALBERTA!!
Come n' get 'em!!
I bought a handful of floating plants for my tank last fall. They slowly grew and filled in and were lovely.
Now, they're dropping dead leaves all over and making a mess of my tank.

I haven't had ADF's with guppies yet (guppies are so tempting though...someday!)
But I have seen frogs with pest snails and assassin snails and some kind of pointy snail and I can say my 6 frogs...
Aww...good luck. I hope she pulls out of it.
When I was a little kid I wanted to be a frog doctor, until my mom told me frogs don't need doctors.(blush)
She was wrong! Too bad more vets...
They're so beautiful...and really great photos. Lovely!
Thanks for sharing.
Kermitira and Prince, very cute names and suitable for this froggy royalty!
Few things make me happier than a...
Try algae wafers if she'll eat them. Froggles is cute!
Not doomed, give her some treats (regular food) in with some fiber regularly for the next few-how-often-she-will-eat it and she might pass it.
Give the cat some catnip toys elsewhere and tell her...
I've kept them, though I was just a tadpole at the time, it's been a while.
20 gal is minimum tank size, if hopefully you will get a few, 3-4 minimum for their social well being. They're mostly...

Loving the tad pics.
Keep 'em coming!
I agree that frogs seem to like being with other frogs. I have a successful community tank with ADF's, but I went into it very carefully with a back-up plan in case there was an issue. You never...
From what I've heard and read, breeding ADF's is not simple. You need something called Infusoria (a collection of single celled animals) in the tank (which you would need to order) or the tadpoles...
This is the first I've heard of ADF aggression towards bettas, it's usually the other way around.
The theories about them biting because they detect illness or becoming more aggressive during...
Here is a quote from another post I replied to, I don't know how to copy it with photos, but the thread is called "Help with Feeding ADF's" under amphibians and turtles section. I've attached a...
I have a tank nearly that size and from my signature you can see my stock.
Everyday I love them more and mroe and with this many species living together it is never not interesting!

Thank you all.
I didn't turn the aquarium heat up, just the house heat which I thought might account for the higher tank temp. =]
When I first started I did a ton of research on temperatures...
There was recently a sticky posted on pest snails here on the forum, which this one probably is.
I had a snail problem too, from buying plants and I found the most awesome and entertaining...
