I currently run a fluorescent lit 36g bow front tank. I work at a chain pet store and I am constantly stocking led lighting because it sells so well.
I've searches google and have found dozens of...
Hit it with a "Like" here as well.. :)

I'm not worried about transferring the neons during the move. But I may postpone moving the tank until I'm all settled in and I can dedicate a whole day to moving the tank and preserving the existing...

Well crap if my fiancÚ didn't dump me last week. And the tank is fully cycled. :P
Luckily it has been an amicable split and I'll have a month or two to move out. Just gonna stock it with Neons...

Cycling is in full steam ahead mode with ammonia drops daily, trites off the chart and trates already at 20ppm. Woot woot
Ammo is dropping to .25 inside of 12 hours now and trites are off the chart and trates are already at 20ppm.
Looks like this cycle is rolling ahead full steam!
Yup. Running Tapatalk on my iPhone 5 right now. Best forum app out there.
I plan to stock 6 Otos in my 36g bow front but would like to feed them veggies from time to time. Probably blanched zucchini.
What's the best way to introduce them to this veg and feed them going...
I put a $10 Petco filter I had laying around with a few feet of tubing and a simple airstone in my tank during the cycling process.
I'll take it out once the tank is established and ready for new...

Oooh... very nice! I am very excited about getting my Pristellas in the tank! My LFS has 45 of them and is going to reserve 15 of them for me as soon as I let them know my tank is cycled and ready. :)

Read my mind. I plan on capping off my capacity with Neons once the tank is established. :)

As a former career golfer I thought I had developed the patience of a rock. However it seems that this cycling process has tested my boundaries. XD
I have to stop testing so frequently. I'm...
Double post.. My bad.

Ammonia hasn't dropped noticeably yet, but nitrites are starting to register during testing. Also have live active filters en route to speed up the action.

Cycling has finally begun today. In addition I have live active media en route to speed it up a bit.
My plan so far is as follows:
13 Gold Pristella Tetras
12 Black Neon Tetras
Heh. Go figure.
Last night my tests started showing signs of nitrites. Of course it won't hurt to add the live filter media I ordered when it arrives. But it is certainly a lesson for new...
Ordered an active filter from Angels Plus to get things rolling a little faster. Should have it by Wednesday. :)
Two weeks in to the cycling process which technically hasn't started yet and no change in ammonia. Just replaced the 2 50w heaters w/ a 200w and the temp has been holding at 84 degrees.

Changed out the 2 x 50w heaters for a 200w heater and finally got the tank up to a consistent 82 degrees. Ammonia level hasn't changed but I'm just going to pretend like I started the day the new...

I like it when a LFS employer takes an interest in my tanks. After a while they will call let me know that they're having a sale or getting a stock of my favorites in.
Anyways, all LFS are run...

Airstone has been running since the initial setup. I'll jack the temp up a bit more.

I'd assume this is pretty common. But just in case, I want to make sure I didn't goof it up.
36g bow front tank. I dosed it to 4ppm with pure ammonia. It's been running steady with 2 hob filters...
Blah. My tank is still sitting at 2-4ppi ammonia with 0 nitrites 5 days after the initial ammonia dosing. :/
I used one of these in my goldfish tank. Was perfect because they would tend to take turns and let the bottom dwellers have their pellets because they'd be too distracted at the ring. ;)
