common pleco...you don't want one too small otherwise the cichlid's will destroy it, even with it's armor, I've had small cichlid's kill and eat a small common pleco.

they can be hitchhikers on all sorts of things, like driftwood or plants from your LFS. all it takes is 1 and you'll be over run in no time.

A few HOB filter's should be fine as far as flow goes...You really can't get more colorful than yellow's but they'er one of my least favorites...peacock's get pretty big and a few of them will...

I would suggest maybe a sponge filter for those guys, because there's obviously not enough water in the tank for the HOB filter to work. Plus they'll enjoy climbing up on the sponge.
