I've decided to go for a tank of pseudotropheus saulosi. Thinking about something along the lines of 3M/10F
I currently have a 46 gallon bowfront tank, have had it up and running a little over a year now. I enjoy the tank, but lately have been thinking of converting it to something...

Pretty mad at myself right now...
Brought in the fish, explained the issue. The employee did a water test using the water I had brought this fish in. He told be my KH was very low (as in near...

Well this is good news (relatively speaking of course)...
I'll definitely be bringing the fish back tomorrow after work. I'd rather switch it up for a healthy one than bother with the hastle...

Picked up a lovely Angelfish yesterday for my 46 gal community tank. Woke up this morning and saw what looked like some damage to the angels' fins. I took a few quick pictures in case...
Did a number on the tank today. My Wisteria were getting a bit overgrown, and were warping from the constant pressure of the waterfall from the filter. I ended up taking them all out, trimming a good...
I have the same problem with my Aquaclear 70. Cleaned the thing out a few minutes ago, I can hear it buzzing behind me as I type this
I find turning the filter off then on again sometimes helps,...

I swear I knew Cory's didn't have scales, i'm just gonna go ahead and go with "the fear of an oncoming ich outbreak made me whiff on that" thumbs2:
So ich isn't a centralized thing, it'll be...

Noticed a white spot on the head of one of my Sterbai Cory, can anyone help me figure out what it is? The realistic pessimist in me thinks it might be ich, but I don't have much experience...
Thankfully I didn't have any surprises waiting for me when I came back from vacation, though my swords and tiger lotus grew a lot while i was gone
I'm definitely going to make the switch to sand...
Heading out for a week in a few days, have the light on a timer, and an Eheim auto feeder going through it's paces. I'll likely feed them less than normal while i'm gone, just enough to tide them...

Bought a small Marineland vac today, hopefully it sucks

I found the bulb I need, but i'm not sure whether 6700k OR 10000k is preferred
Picked up a couple of assassin snails today, which are currently acclimating. Looking forward to waking up to empty shells...

Still debating Kribensis vs. GBR, can't settle on one and it's driving me nuts!
Both are gorgeous fish and i'm pretty sure would feel right at home in my tank, but i can see a drawback to each...
I have a single true SAE in my 46 gallon bow front. I love watching him dart in and out of my wisteria, then immediately sink to the bottom. At the moment he's my favourite fish that I have in my...
I've noticed during water changes that I get a lot of small snails getting caught in the (weak) suction of my python. Quite a few hanging out on the aquarium walls as well. I think i'll pickup a...
Saw the guy who gave the plant again finally, turns out it's a Tiger Lotus
I'll have to post a pic, but it's looking great these days
I have an Aquaclear 70 and i'm not a fan. I haven't called them yet (will be soon), but I have the exact same issue with mine. Rattles sometimes whether I do the Vaseline fix or not. I have to take...
Potentially. I'm removed the amazon sword leaves that were in rough shape, hopefully that'll help if it was causing an issue
Bought 10 Sterbai Cory today, not buying any more fish until after my...

Meant to update this the other day...
I trimmed any amazon leaves that had any holes/cuts, clear spots or yellowish spots. Hopefully they'll recover. I'm not 100% but I think some newer leaves...
I'm a beginner so my advice is pretty moot, but if you opt to change the tank I think an amazon blackwater with some angels and a big old tree trunk would look really really cool in that tank

I was thinking about this earlier as a possibly convenient solution. How did you switch it? Did you just cut off the old one and attach the narrower tube?

So I found myself at the LFS today checking out their stock of the 4 fish... (also buying cories, three cheers for self-control!)
They have kribs in stock, as well as German/Bolivian Rams. They...

I have an aquarium journal going on, i post anything worthwhile in it. Any new fish will be mentioned and photos will for sure be posted! I'll add the Colombian Tetras to my list of potential fish...
