Already tried metro but it didn't work
HITH is not a disease per se but a symptom of disease (compare, for example coughing in humans could be caused by many different causes)...

Spardas yes I noticed the problem and started treatments in August.
Do you have suggestions for sourcing/usage?
I am going to try and get the attention of the guy who wrote the Usnea articles...
Gave the sump a thorough deep-cleaning. There was a layer of scum and undissolved nitrofurazone on the bottom. Dosing in the filter instead now.
Continued adding magnesium sulfate.
Redness getting worse, white stuff seems to have formed into "bubbles" (photos taken Friday night)
Pending new combo, keep the 4 known medications, and switch the herbal:
I don't know, can I bounce off some ideas?

Sorry for your loss :(
Since you already got fish you will be doing a fish-in cycle, so for a period of weeks to months it will require high maintenance (water changes only, do not change the...
What is the brand of filtered bottled water? Maybe it's not right for the fish, as some filtration processes strip out all the minerals from the water. (suspected issue: "osmotic shock")
It's been 15 minutes so I'll assume you're having trouble uploading pictures. If so, we'll just have to do this the written way.

Generally a tank should be set up ~3 weeks before fish but the deed is done so I won't go on about this
Generally a new fish should not be fed for 24 hours but again the deed...
I just bought a TDS meter.
1770ppm yesterday, 1770ppm today. Seems to be holding steady considering I add the same amount of salt and medication after each water change.
Tap water is 80ppm.
Price does not necessarily equal value. It's not easy to put a dollar value on life of your fish, but it must at least exceed the purchase price otherwise you wouldn't have bought it in the first...

I sewed a filter pad onto the drain pipe like this. Water flows through the pad before the sump. PVC frame serves dual purpose as backup air power in case of return pump failure....

Wow I see. Effective method of avoiding QT without the risks. Where'd you get 50 cardinals, 10 Denison Barbs, 10 Albino Cory Cats, some large angels and 3 Albino Discus all in 1 place?
If you have...
Yoyo appears to be dead. Found shrivelled body on floor, probably jumped a few days ago.
In a sort of reverse hospital tank I got a used 16 gal, cleaned it up with vinegar and hydrogen peroxide, and moved the yoyo loach to it. So now I can medicate the main tank without the risk of...
