I lost all my goldfish yesterday. They'd been fighting something for weeks that lead to excessive slime coat, lethargy, clamped fins, lack of appetite (really bad for goldfish), and stringy white poo...

General question about diagnosing Dropsy
I keep a lot of mollies and other livebearers and I have been wondering this. Am I the only person who has difficulty distinguishing early dropsy (pre-pinecone stage) and very late pregnancy? In both...

White poo
Is there ever a time when long stringy white poo is not a sign of a serious problem? Last week, my two goldfish comets had it on two different nights. Neither of them showed any other signs of...

Growing spirulina
My fish really like to nibble on the leathery algae that grows under my aquarium lights. Is it possible to grow your own spirulina? I've heard it's very nutritious and I know they'd like it.
