He is back into the school and has returned some colour but is now half the man he was! Lol.
The school seems very passive at the moment, not much activity or aggression.
I have always had one main 'alpha' male out of my 9 tiger barbs. He has always been the biggest, most colorful and most aggressive out of them all. I have noticed the last 2 days he has been looking...
You have it set up well. I love the depth the hard-scape gives.
Would love to do something similar on a second tank and have a shelf feature or different tiers would be cool....
Sad to hear.
I have done some prior research and gone for Myaxin. I have had success in the past with Waterlife products so hopefully this will sort the little fellas out!
Ive noticed a few of my Bronze Corydoras have slightly ragged top dorsal fins, some worse than others. Some have a slight white-ish colour around the edges.
I have 6 in total of...

Ive just got some hygro myself! Ive just dipped it in some profito and planted it in the center of the tank.
Let me know how you get on with it!
Aghhh, red cherry shrimp.
All shrimp are out the question as my barbs will snack on them. And I am not willing to pay that much cash for live food >,<
Haha thanks, its just white wallpaper.
Yeah Otos are definitley on my list. Just waiting to make a decision yet as I dose liquid carbon which can potentially affect them. What are rcs?
I have bought some hygrophila corymbosa to feat in the middle of the tank. I will be taking out the overhanging stone and plant it in the middle.
Hopefully I will get some quick growth and it will...
I have some algae currently growing on the more established leaves of my sagg.
I may also add a small school of otos.
I am in the process at the moment of picking some nice, bushy plants for...
It is to the front. I use my blinds to direct the light away but it hits it in small amounts.
Will this effect the plants?
Thanks for the advice. I have switched it off for now giving it a 10m run every 6 hours to keep the bacteria alive.
I have a secondary small internal filter keeping the tank ticking over.
Amano shrimps are out the question because of my barbs.
I have just purchased a timer plug so I will set up a 6 hour photo period. However during the downtime some light will still hit the tank...
I have quite a newly set up tank.
Stocked plants I have about:
8 x Saggitaria Sebulate dwarf
3 x clumps of Eleocharis sp mini (hairgrass) spread throughout.
I have just been doing maintenance on my canister filter and found the white tube running through the impeller (pivot?) is broken in two.
The noise is unbearable and flow is awful.
Ok just added some more ammonia. Hopefully I will get the same results tomorrow and I can pick up my barbs.
Cheers :) just added some big chucks of slate into the tank as a centre piece. So...
Ok my ammonia is at 0 and my nitrites at 0. Shall I do a large water change and add fish tomorrow?
Woooot! Just got home from work and it's dropped!
Nitrate: 80ppm? (Blood red)
I'm so happy! All of those weeks of grinning and bearing has paid off.
Just released some air from out of my filter and loads of this white, wavy stuff has came out my outlet pipe.
What is it? Will it go or will it affect my ammonia levels?
The tank is 36x12x15 (3ft long) ~100l 26g. I'm planning on having a school of tiger barbs only. With the possibility of some corys.
Adequate filtration APS ef 1000lh canister filter with another...
Yeah I haven't added any ammonia in 36 hours. Thanks for the advice you have been great help so far. Ile continue to add 2.5ppm every 36 hours. Just had to take out some dead leaves off my plants to...
Patience patience patience.
I've been doing my fishless cycle now for 7 weeks and staring to feel like I have stalled.
The first couple of weeks I was adding 4.5ppm of ammonia and it was...
Thanks. I think I forgot to taper the ammonia that I was adding and so ended up with too much nitrite. I will continue with 1ppm of ammonia daily until the drop.
Is my cycle finished? Shall I just be adding 1ppm of ammonia in daily to keep it alive or continue with 4ppm until my nitrate levels increase?
What about this setup?
