Fine I'll tell you :)
I have a small shoal of 8 forktaill rainbowfish
Lol nope, I will give you a clue, it has blue eyes.
The first fishy inhabitants are in the tank now :D
I decided to go with something different, but before I post the identity and pictures, I think you guys should have a go at guessing first :D
No I didn't, just assumed that since it was petrified wood it would be ok. I'll take a piece out later and give it a try
The only rock I have in there is something called wood rock, like this: http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/aged-wood-rock-per-kg-p-6417.html
I'm surprised at how hard my water is though, out of the tap its 140 tds but in the tank, it is now close to 400.
Its not the substrate as that was meant to lower hardness. The ferts I used do...
I would love some galaxy rasbora but i'm worried that my ph is too low and my tds too high for them
Wouldn't my tank be too small for them?
The tank now has a colony of 30 red cherry shrimp :D
The tank parameters are quite surprising and hard and has caused me to rethink my stocking.
The tank parameters are:
The eggs don't bother me too much to be honest as long as there isn't thousands of them but I know they will lay them literally anywhere. It may dad's tank, the snails have laid eggs on other snails!
Yea those are bubbles on my HC :)
What white dots?
The first inhabitants have moved in today!
4 horned nerite snails
Tank shot after some TLC :)
I did try a bit of lava rock there that I had left over but it just "stood out" too much for my liking.
Next steps is to get the clean up crew in and hopefully sort the algae problem...
My plants have arrived and are in the tank.
Just wanted to do another comparison
The first shot is from today and the second shot is from the beginning, around a month ago.
Food wise shrimps naturally eat the biofilm and microorganisms found in the aquarium, as this will mainly be shrimp with may be microcrabs (I don't have any experience with these) there should be...
I agree with you there.
Not sure want plant to go with though, would like something with a bushy look. Would probably have to be a low demand plant since the pogostemon helferi struggled in that...
Good idea, I'll have to see if there is any decent pieces at my lfs
Haha I'll keep crypts in mind :P
I'm tempted to remove the left rock boundary and just carry on the HC carpet, dunno whether that would just look to plain though :/
Sorry I haven't done an update for a bit, I have been quite busy recently.
Unfortunately the pgostemon helferi just didn't like where it was and it became very leggy. I have moved it to...
I've had a rethink about stocking.
I'm now thinking of the following:
Bumble bee nerite snails
Red cherry shrimp
Pygmy cory x 8
otto x 6
featherfin rainbow fish x 10
what are your guys...
Wish I could have a bigger tank :(
Tank Update Time!!!
Now I just wanted to put these two photographs next to each other to give you all a good idea about the growth rate.
The picture on the left is the tank on the...
Its echinodorus paniculatus (Amazone) not sure if thats narrow leaf?
