by cutting 1 inch holes in the liner and egg crate so that i can add root tabs when needed, and i have tried covering the roots with rocks but they dig around the rocks and expose them,dosent seem to...
i have a 75 gallon mbuna tank that is heavily planted the cichlids
leave the plants alone (dont eat em) but they continuosly dig the roots up
right now all i have for substrate is black diamond...
from what ive read i assumed id need around 2.5 wpg to reach the bottom of the tank but i will do as you suggest and turn one of the bulbs off and see what happens
