oh, ok thanks. i really didnt consider the actual space of the tank as being a factor in housing, i was more thinking in terms of water quality.

see you guys missed the actual question, what i was asking was if adding a sump, thus adding more water to the system, would allow me to keep the fish i already have

I know angels like a little bigger tank but that is just not an option.
I do have a place i can rehouse the platy and possibly the neons.

ok, so in my 30 gallon tank i have:
7 harlequin rasboras
5 neon tetras
3 angelfish (1 big, two little)
1 cory catfish
