Ill keep more of an eye on the gouramis then, I had no idea!
The cory's get algae wafers, along with I think it's frozen bloodworm but not massively sure (it's in the freezer and I'm not home).
There's a very large piece of wood in there that it hides under, takes up most of the tank (95l).
Gourami - one male and one female (I think). Both seem really peaceful and timid, keep to...
I have a Bristlenose Pleco that isn't fully sized yet, and last night I noticed that one of my flame tetras has bits missing from his fin and his, i suppose, top lip is missing.
It's a 95l currently with:
2 albino cory's, 2 oto's, 3 balloon mollies, 1guppy and three newborns (approx 1mnth old and not keeping), 2 dwarf gourami and 3 neon rainbow fish.
I added the rainbow...
5 cherry barbs gone in the night :( nitrites go crazy overnight.
I've noticed a build up of white stuff on the glass - anything to worry about?
As in my first post :p I had a nitrite spike this am while I was at work.
My OH did some water changes to get them down and I did another when I got home.
Checking nitrites every hour and they're...
Have just checked the tap water and its very similar to the tank PH so maybe it's not a problem. I generally check my ammonia/nitrite and forget about PH so when I saw it was high I...
So. A few fish died while I was at work today, nitrites were ridiculously high. I have managed to lower them quickly with water changes, but my ph is high.. It's off the ph chart I have heh.
Well.... Drum roll.... My nitrites look fine.
Thank you SO much for helping me and keeping me calm ha. My fish look much happier now.
Have done many large water changes with no change. Estimate have done at least 3 50% changes all in all. Will keep on it, I do have salt and an air stone available so will sort that out too.
Everytime I do a change the fish seem happier, but after a few hours they all get closer and closer to the surface again! (Bar the cory's and gourami...)
Well, I shall keep trying with the...
If possible, my nitrites have risen :(
Ok I've done another water change, 50%. How long will it take to get an accurate reading?
Hi, yes I read that - it says to continue doing water changes, I guess I wanted some re-assurance that I was doing the right thing lol.
Nitrite is currently between 0.25 and 0.50ppm
Ok I recently added 3 ember tetras to my tank and will be adding more over time.
The problem is my OH had just put two rams in his tank and the nitrites were too high, so I agreed to put...
Wow thank you for all the welcomes! :fish:
I have two honey gouramis in my 95l (and have since read that only 1 is advisable) - in the past few days one of them has gotten really fat/bloated. It is also the one that seems quite...
Thank you for all the advice, seems tablets are the way forward!
Thank you again!
I currently have a 95l tank running (with fish) and sand substrate. I've decided I want to make more of an effort with my live plants and give them a better substrate and generally better...
I'm from Brighton, UK and currently have a 95l tropical tank with 2 oto's, cherry barbs, guppies and balloon mollies.
I'm new to this so will be asking for a lot of advice!
