while some of those do get big, there are many fw fish that get much bigger. some that can be bought at an aquarium shop are arapaima, pacu, red tail cat, alligator gar, peacock bass, tiger...

I keep some tapajos w/sev and longterm I think it might be a bit overcrowded with a largish GT and sev in there. shortterm no probs for a few years probably.

saltwater tanks almost always have a crushed coral substrate.

most eartheaters are mid-bottom dwelling species. the large severum does not show any aggression towards them.

sounds like pop-eye. do some large ferequent water changes and it usually goes away if you catch it quick enough.

I use only titanium submersible heaters. a bit more pricey, but they rarely fail. especially valuable if you have large setups and/or expensive fish. :fish:
