Hello, ive got a 29g setup that had 2 angelfish and 2 red swordtails in it which cycled the tank for a good 2 months. Recently i purchased 6 molly's, 3 silver 3 black. Now when i introduced them into...
The whole debate on salt in a freshwater aquarium.
It's up to you to decide. Overall it doesnt seem to hurt, but isn't a MUST have.
It is HIGHLY recommended to buy a heater. It'll keep the water at a constant and stable 76f - even a 1 degree change can stress fish.
A 10 gallon heater would be pretty cheap too, no excuse not...
I currently have 1 red swordtail and 2 neons (after a bad cycling incident) and I will be going on vacation shortly. The fish would be without food for 5 days. Is that ok?
Should I buy an...

Well it looks like AQUA KING is right. It wasnt the filter, the fish died and was then sucked into the filter.
I've got a huge problem now. I believe my tank was never cycled. How is this...
you are fine then, nothing to worry about.
if the fish were deprived of oxygen you'd see them at the top trying to stick their mouth into the air and gasping for breath. You would notice they are...
thanks William good link.

We'll today I purchased 9 neon tetras after cycling my tank for 7 weeks. Being the first small fish I've had I didnt think of any possible problems before adding them to the tank.
it does kill some of the good bacteria but its neccessary, or else the fish will die. if you stay at 20% or less and dont do it anymore often then every 3 days (for the first 2 weeks) you'll be fine...
i think this is them.
painted tetras, how terrible. shame on them.
Today at my LFS i was looking at some of the tetra tanks and noticed they had these beauitful tetras named "raspberry tetra" and "fruit loop" tetra.
The problem is I can't find any information on...
i think hes talking about turing off the bubble wand at night, not the actual filter.
Would that matter much?
When you first start cycling the tank with fish, you should be doing 15-20% water changes every 3 days. After 1-2 weeks you can start to ease up until you are doing a 20-25% water change once a week....
how do you get the new water to be the same temp as the aquarium water? i just try to guess, to the best my finger can sense the temperature.
yeah they are recent. about 2 weeks now. just cycling the tank with him.
i think he was sick from the beginning, he was always kinda alot smaller and thinner then the females and always liked to...
I can't find a single thing :( so weird... when I clean the gravel soon I'll pay extra attention to see if I can find anything
yeah from the get-go he was never 100% it seemed. He always stayed distant and never chased any of the females or anything like that. Would they eat the whole fish? Can't even find any remains :/
