I'll be darned. I went to squish some snails this morning and the first thing I saw was a baby(ish) assassin snail.
I was under the impression they were hard to get to mate. Now I just need...

I'll just keep at them.
Not killing any for 9 months then wondering why there are so many doesn't help matters.

Oops I forgot.
I used to have amazon frogbit in my 110g tall that did fine, and it was in my low quality 29g beginner tank and for some reason was the best looking plant ever.

I've got a large 4x65w CF light that I used to use on my 110g tall.
I sold the 110g tall a long time ago and put the light on my 30g planted cherry shrimp tank but only have 2 of the lights...
It's only been about 5 years:ssuprised:
No wonder my tank has been in a downhill spiral over the last year or so.
Not only were my old bulbs 12,000k but with the "oops" moment I had when i...

Drove by that large aquarium store today while in Lancaster and made me think of the forum here and what was said a while back when I moved. I know I don't get on here often anymore but my aquarium...

Made it to PA okay.
It's a good thing i only had plants and shrimp or it would have been a disaster.

Got the tank all torn down ok. No need to take the gravel out since I have the tank on the board so 2 people can carry it with no strain on the tanks seals. I have a bubbler in the rubbermaids for...

I'm moving to Lancaster, PA. took a full time job with Pioneer HI-Breds so it should be exciting and scary at the same time.
and as for the shrimp population it just grew on it's own. I bought...

the vette is a 69.
I went ahead and got two rubbermaid containers.
I still think i'll leave a bit of water in the bottom for the snails so I don't have to worry about getting them out of the...

The rubbermaid container sounds easy enough.
I think once i take the plants, wood, and large rocks out it'll be easy enough to catch the majority of them.
Then I feel like if i leave 1in of...

Hi. it's been a while.
My 30g shrimp tank w/ live plants has been pretty care free and doing well with little input from me.
I got a new job and am moving 700miles away.
I want to know...

I think like us they have the ones they over the ones they think are just okay. I hear they'd pass up trumpet snails for the pond snails for ease of getting at the snail and maybe taste?
