How big is your tank? How many watts is your heater? Where is your themometer in realation to heater location?

Bleach solutions are fine to use in your tank. I don't understand why people freak out so badly when people mention it.

I'd add a few more. The more fish, the more ammonia. The more ammonia, the larger the bacteria colonies. The larger the colonies, the quicker they reproduce and the more ammonia they can handle.

Those looke like regular feeder goldies...they will get to be 12-16" in length on average (as adults)...some being recorded as large as 24" in length. They can also live up to 30+ years.
