I suggest you use gravel, I think it's easier to keep clean. But personally use natural gravel for a tank that size, not the colored one that you can get from your LFS. You can get darker(black) or...

No I didn't buy the tank used, I bought it in february I think, and it isn' t condensation, the fish are some middle sized blue gouramis so I don't think they're capable of splashing that big.

No there isn't any water missing from the tank, but I think I know now what is the problem, last time when I was doing a water change some water got under the tank, and now it's in the furniture :|,...
