I definitely understand that breeding does not equal healthy, but I guess my point was that they lived long enough to breed. I've had fish live many years in this water, so that's why it was so...

That definitely makes sense, but what I don't understand is why the corydoras in particular survived and even bred in this water before...
I'm just not sure that using non-softened water is...
I asked for a pair of Bolivians at the LFS and I'm not sure that's what I got. They do have definite differences, but I'm not sure if they are different sexes, or if they are the same and one is...

I had a plan for my 75g which centered around a pair of Electric Blue Acara. I started with the following:
-2 Electric Blue Acara
-1 Bristlenose pleco
-22 Serpae Tetra
-9 Giant Danio
I'd recommend switching your substrate to sand or at least putting in a section of sand. Your loach will love it! Definitely get him some buddies as well. Good luck!

I had a trio of three spots (1m/2f) and really enjoyed them. The male was always making nests trying to show off and the females basically ignored him. Poor bloke.
3-4 is not a good number for...

Cycling with a betta means that your tank had a bacterial colony prepared to handle a betta. Because the colony was started, it should catch up to the new bioload relatively quickly, but make sure...
Sounds like a great setup! I'd be interested to see what you have for sale as well. I've imported from Thailand but just not interested in paying the transshipping fees again!

I'm losing Serpae tetra by the droves in my 75g tank. The Electric Blue Acara and Giant Danio seem just fine.
Nitrate: 10 - 20
PH: 7.6 - 7.8...

He was about 2.5-3". There is one pane of glass missing because I stepped on it and broke it and have not been able to find a replacement. I'm going out of town Thursday and hoping to find one then....
Oh, I forgot the bristlenose pleco in the stock list! I did see him during my search for the Acara so thankfully he's alive and well.
Figured out how to get the Serpaes to come out: Manzanita wood and MORE SERPAES!
I think the Giant Danio help too. Those suckers aren't scared of anything.

Found him. He jumped.
WHY wasn't it one of the $2 fish?!

Yes, I acclimated them using the drip method and everyone else seems to be just fine.
I'm going to go do a water change and partial teardown to see if I can find him.

I am not finding any bones. There are places they could possibly be stuck and it's possible he may be alive in hiding... but I'm not holding out a lot of hope. :( It's crazy how upset I am about...

I brought home a pair of Electric Blue Acara last night, along with some Serpae tetra and Giant danio. There were already Serpae tetra in the tank.
This morning my male Acara is just... gone. He...
A couple of the plants and the wood came in. I also have some plastic plants in there at the moment (they will be removed).
I got 13 Serpaes yesterday. They are still hiding. I hope as I get more plants in the tank they become more visible. I still have no idea what I'm putting in there aside from the Serpaes, Acaras and...
Oooh water lettuce... it thrives in my water... and then it is EVERYWHERE. I've been thinking of doing some sort of floating plant though... maybe frogbit? I had an order placed with someone on...
I decided to completely overhaul this tank and make it into an SA/CA tank with a pair of Electric Blue Acaras as the centerpiece. Finding a pair is going to prove problematic because it appears they...
Well, this tank is no longer a nano fish tank. I decided to tear down my mbuna tank and the only two remaining fish are in here now. I rather like how it looks and may end up finding something...
This tank is undergoing an overhaul. Stock had dwindled so I decided to mostly re-do it. I now have:
1m/1f of Gardneri killifish
10 rasboras (mostly harlequins)
1m/1f checker barb

I decided to throw them in the 26. They are doing quite well so far. I'm slightly confused because I read they like calm water... the male is currently playing in the bubble wand. The "evil"...
