So here is another short video of the main tank. The lemons have settled in nicely.
That would be an issue for you lefties haha
I'm moving forward some 15 years of technology from my current car.
That and an ability to wander around game reserves and get to hikes with ease....
Some non-fishy related news...... I'm getting my first new car! Super super excited! I may be collecting later this week. Mine will look exactly like these two pics.
As promised :)
I'm uploading the video. Unfortunately my internet in South Africa probably isn't anywhere near what you guys have. So this will take over an hour to upload to youtube.
The school has split up a...
So a little update.
I've been looking to change stocking a little in my 185L tank. The Black Neons and Neons have not been as successful over time as some of the other small schools. Therefore I...
So I've had to do a lot of trimming already to this tank. Roughly every second day one of the plants has had to be trimmed. The growth in this tank is truly phenomenal. However, green spot algae is...
So on Sunday I was able to take some time off and head up to the game reserve for a day. Here are some of the pics from it:
My beautiful Betta is no more :-(
The power went off for four hours. I turned off the CO2 and checked all the parameters. They were all good.
I wake up this morning to find him dead and stuck...
I think it will make things "pop". It will definitely hide the filter. And that is currently far too visible
The nano got a nice trim today as a lot of the plants were touching the top and starting to bend.
I have also added a few pieces of Rotala Wallichi to pick up the red tones a bit more.
There are a ton of factors that can cause problems with plants
I don't know if it is the only factor here but across my tanks with high light setups if I increase the quantity of iron in the water then the plants show off more of these red and yellow colours.
That would be one hellava trip for some water [emoji23].
This is the end result of very high light in the correct spectrum with the right amount of ferts. I dose Seachem Flourish as my general...
The growth rate in this tank is amazing! Going to have to be careful about nutrients.
And after spending a little time reviewing the scape I have decided that it did need another rock.
So here it is. What do you guys think? I must say I'm very pleased with the water clarity that...
Well I received a monetary gift from my grandfather. He's now 96 with senile dementia and sadly it doesn't look like he will be with us for much longer.
So I decided I would use part of this gift...
He was kept with a variety of young Harlequins that he could easily have snacked on. Instead he seemed to enjoy swimming around and interacting with the plants and rocks
He's already home [emoji1]. I watched him carefully for over half an hour at the store and he seemed to be a mellow personality.
I don't mind if he snacks on the occasional shrimp because I...
He's just over an inch from tip to tip
I had a look at what was available locally for this size tank.
Dwarf cories - no
Galaxy rasbora - ridiculously expensive
Other more exotic nano type fish just don't seem to come in.
If my calculations are correct it's around 12 US gallons
Except...... Now I'm on holiday I can't seem to wake up before 8:00. Which isn't very productive.
The dreaded early morning! This is why I'm so happy to finish honours!
Up at 5:00 to start studying. At 6:00, shower and eat etc.
By 6:30 I was heading off to university.
By 7:00 I had...
The tank is now clear. I'm considering the following:
Should I add another smaller rock?
Should I try add any more fish?
The stock currently consists of 11 Chili Rasbora and probably 60...
