Aquarium 1:
20-gallon-high coldwater, AC50 plus Azoo pump with 4-inch airstone, standard flourescent tube light on full lid, brownish-red pea gravel. Inhabitants include: 1 Zebra Danio, 2 blue Glo-fish, 3 yellow Glo-Fish, 2 pink Glo-Fish, 2 (visible) Red Cherry Shrimp, several hitch-hiker snails.
Aquarium 2:
65-gallon coldwater / stand; Aqueon glass Versi-top, 36-inch flourescent tube light, 2 AC 110s, blue and black pea gravel. Inhabitants include: 1 medium-sized Shubunkin, 1 small comet, 5 Rosy Barbs, 2 blue glofish, 3 pink glofish, 1 yellow glofish, 5 white cloud minnows, 3 zebra danios, 5 dojo loach

No third tank yet, but am thinking of getting another 20-gallon-high. The third one will probably be a tropical tank.

How I got started with aquariums.:
Back in the 1980s I kept a variety of tanks, including saltwater, freshwater tropical, tide-pool marine and freshwater cold. I also had an outdoor pond with small koi. All of this while living in southern California. I got back into fishkeeping in June of 2010, after purchasing some goldfish and snails for my current outdoor pond which I established two years ago, after having lived in the north Idaho panhandle since 1995. I set up my indoor aquarium on September 26, 2010.

Dojo (weather loach), variety of others
Fish I have bred:
None, so far. I figure nature will take care of itself, when the time and conditions are right. RCS are invertebrates, and have bred in my 20.
Why I like fish::
Fish watching is as fascinating, peaceful, therapeutic and enjoyable as birdwatching, which I also do.
Best advice:
Learn as much as you can and conscientiously care for our fish and invertebrates. If you don't love your pets, don't keep them.
Some food for thought: A sign of humility is being smart without being mean.
My comment about giving thumbs up: I prefer to give rep, instead. I do appreciate all the thumbs ups I have received. I'm not being stingy, I just prefer to use the "give rep" function over the "thumbs up" function.
