How I got started with aquariums.:
I was given a fish on my first day of college--a goldfish. I did a little reseach and quickly learned that he needed 10 gallons, so I bought a 10 gallon tank. I kept him for about 4 years before he got sick and died while I was away.
I now know that he probably should have had at least 30 gallons, but I'm still learning and eager to learn more on this forum!

Fish are soothing and have such surprising personality! I think there's nothing more relaxing than sitting back and just watching a fish tank.
Best advice:
Listen to the advice you're given by people who know what they're talking about--AKA never listen to the people at Petco for fish advice! Be open to listening to advice, even if you don't like what you're being told!
