Hi all. After letting the GDA build up to try to let it go through it "spore cycles" what is the best way to remove it from the tank. Using a magnet scrapper on all that algae made the tank water build up with a lot of free floating algae real fast. Should I take the fish out so I can take out close to 90% out or should i leave them in and do multiple changes by diluting the free floating Algae with new water while changing (which will obviously take alittle long but maybe less stress full? Thanks

I have some very dense vallisneria at the back of my tank and today I decided they needed trimming, however in doing so I discovered they were covered in black hair, perhaps hair algae? There was also bits which had white hair too.

Thinking about it I also have this same hair like stuff on some of my other plants at the front and on a piece of bogwood, and the front glass is often covered in a light film of white or brown stuff.

Any idea what can I do about this? I do weekly water changes and my Nitrates are always around 10 - 20, not to mention the tank is fully cycled with 0 ammonia and nitrite (PH is 7.6).
