Hi All! Just got my first fish, 4 Albino bronze corys. They seem to be happy in the tank I have for now, but I have a few questions about how they're acting.

1) Three of them are being very friendly to one another and even keep trying to include the fourth, but he (or she) seems to want very little to do with them and hides in a corner by him(or her)self. Is that normal? I know that 3 of them were in the same tank at the store and one of them wasn't, so would they maybe group up better later?

2) One of them Has gotten him(or her)self wedge between the heater and the glass of the tank a couple times (I'm 90% certain it's the small, hyper one I've taken to calling Ringo), I rescue him (or her) within a few seconds of noticing this (I'm not 100% certain that he(or she) is actually stuck since they take off fast when I try to move the heater, but I'd rather error on the side of caution) but I don't know why s/he keeps doing that or how to stop it... is it normal? Could it hurt him/her? S/he's not down by the area that really causes the heat, but up toward the controls on it (It's a submergable).

3) 3 of the four seem happy to just sit along the bottom of the tank and move fairly rarely, but the fourth (Ringo) seems to have too much energy. He's all over the tank, he even breached the water a couple of times, is he just energetic cuz it's a new tank or is something wrong with him?

I took a solid hour to acclimate them to be on the safe side, 10 minutes of floating with me not messing with them at all to adjust the temperature, then 1/4 cup of water every five minutes for the next 50 minutes until the bag was nearly full, then I netted them out and set them in the water and they seemed perfectly happy. I've named them all, but currently only one of them actually has a name that is attached (Ringo), the others are George, John and Paul. Thanks so much for any help or answers you have to offer!

Help identify this farlowella?

I recently bought a "Columbian Farlowella" for $25(Which I would assume is Farlowella colombiensis), but I'm not sure if this is a royal farlowella. It is currently stoked in a tank with 6 dwarf neon rainbows, 4 Madagascan rainbows(will soon increase numbers), 5 zebra loach, 1 small BN pleco, and 1 pearl gourami(soon 2). There is no aggression and everyone in this community gets along very well. The farlowella isn't at all shy, and is always picking on algea and out in the open. When I bought it, it was hiding under a rock so I would assume it is less stressed. The tank is 48 inches long, 12 wide, and 20 high. Here is the picture:
image.jpg

So is this a Farlowella Colombiensis, or Farlowella Vittata(Rotal Farlowella)

Also, I would like to know if these will feed aggressively. I don't want the zebra loaches to eat everything before it even finds it. And, will it eat cucumber?

I have my tank temp set at 78 but it's closer to 80 most of the time; they go crazy at feeding time but unlike my sterbais they don't constantly swim around. Planet catfish has the upper end temp for them at 78.8 degrees so should I be worried? they eat like pigs but they just seem to be mellowing out since the heat wave here in PA when I'm not home the tank might get closer to 82 but that's as high as it ever gets.

I should mention I tested my tank and everything is 0 except nitrates which reach 5ppm max before my water changes.

My LFS has a whole tank of them - I can get a bunch on my way home from work and let them sit in my main tank until I get the QT set up.

I did observe their bellies and of course they appear a bit malnourished so I figured I can drop a few algae tablets in there once they have time to settle in?

I should get at least 6 right? They will be in a 5gal QT for 2 weeks and then right into my 46 gal which is quite understocked at this time. Should I get a plant to go into the bag with them for security or is that usually for shrimp?

Current tank mates are 10 black skirt tetras, 1 L200 pleco and 3 baby firemouth cichlids(I am going to sell them). The only fish that I will not get rid of is the L200, the black skirts will be booted if needed.
This tank will be planted with a medium amount of plants.

I am the proud owner of 6 Sterbai cories in my 55g. Over the past few days I upgraded my filters to AC110's and therefore had to move the tank out away from the wall a bit more. And had to level the tank etc etc

Well since this was done a few times (blush) because i didn't measure twice move once...

So looking close at everyone enjoying the tank yesterday and noticed a few things that are bothering me

My rams are acting fine, 1 male is being bullied, he is being re-homed within next few days.

My dwarf gourami is swimming weird, will be fine, but then will swim straight down, kinda twist and level back out... I thought it might be the flow too high so I made baffles that work great, but he still is doing it. Otherwise he looks fine

And the problem that really bothered me is my sterbai all have no barbels... my substrate is turface, after talking to a few friends that have it there cories are fine... so could it be from the stress of moving the tank (50% pwc each time) a few times in 2 days... or possibly from the rams chasing a little??
