Ammonia outbreak!!!!!! Please help!

Rate this Entry
Hello there! Im in desperate need of some help! I recently was told my aquarium has a spike in ammonia. I have only had the 55 gallon aquarium for 3 months now. Currently only have 6 guppies and 1 female betta in it. I switched pet shops because I didnt feel like the original was being honest with me, and just wanted to get their fish out the door. But when my fish kept dying, I decided to switch shops. The new shop told me I had a high amount of ammonia in my tank. So I bought two products both from Seachem "Prime"&"Stability". I have used the Stability for not quite a week now, and just started the Prime today. How long will it take for my ammonia to get the heck out?! and what type of test should I use to check? I have the API ammonia version, but its still showing positive. Please help me! Thank you!
