FJ's Inquiry and Observation

Betta Behaviors

Update: He just died. I don't know why. He was fine earlier, I watched youtube for a couple hours, I checked on him, and he's dead. Just like that. I don't even know what I did wrong. I think that I'm just not supposed to have bettas. I feel like I'm the one killing them somehow. So, I'm just going to do the humane thing and not get any more. Thanks for your help guys. I might pop in if we need to ask something about the tetra or the shrimp, but I won't be saying anything more about my own bettas. I don't know why or how, but somehow I manage to kill them.

I recently got a beautiful new betta. He is blue-bodied with fins that are red with white tips. He's a half-moon. So far, he has enjoyed scaring me. He lays on the bottom as if he's dead, then when I start to panic, he swims around like nothing's wrong.

He has also discovered that I don't quite like it when he looks at me from the corner of his tank... It makes him look bigger, but also distorted and creepy as hell!

I can forgive him though... He's really cute when he plays pranks on me, and he's waaaay to smart when it comes to knowing my weaknesses.

He had a little bit of Ich start up on his side, so we put a little aquarium salt in with him (It worked with my tetras, and my brother's female betta) and he looks really good today. The little jar that we put it in scared him, but when we took it out he went right back to normal. A.K.A. Making creepy faces at me from the corner of his tank...

He's still doing it. When he drifts away, he wiggles right back. He also likes to prop his head up on the thermometer's suction cup...

Does anyone else have a betta that shows a definitely unique personality? I'd love to hear about them!
