FJ's Inquiry and Observation

Yesterday we put our new neons in the 20gal along with our 2 ghosties and our gold mystery snail. Today two were dead. We replaced them (suspected victims of NTS or new tank syndrome) and noticed that one of our neons was a green color. After some research I found that there is a species called Green Tetra (or False Neon Tetra) somehow we got a less widespread tetra along with our pretty blue ones.

We have dubbed him "Itsuki" (a character from Yu Yu Hakusho anime). He shines a lovely bright seafoam green in the light, and his tail is less red than the others. He isn't diseased because he acts normal. Two of our new neons like to follow him around. We also have a pair that keeps going off to themselves.

Does anyone know if the other fish will clean up any eggs that happen, or is there another way to prevent breeding? Our tank shouldn't be in perfect conditions to breed. We are trying to purposely keep it just out of their breeding range without hurting them.

By the way, our larger ghost shrimp keeps curling its tail under so I'm wondering if its cleaning its tail, or if there is something else. I'm thinking that one of the shrimps is a female because it got a quarter inch bigger than the other one before it stopped growing...

I've heard that female betta will clean up eggs, but I don't know if that's healthy.
