  1. Back Ground

    Hi! My name is Casie and I keep tropical aquariums. Now that I have admitted my addiction lets move on.

    My main tanks have always been 20, 37, and 55 gallon. I prefer those sizes. I might go up to a 90 one of these days, but not any time soon. I keep a 10 gallon QT/Hospital/Fry tank empty and waiting. I have pulled my wine cork collection out of the 5 and 3 gallons recently for a run at micro tanks sometime in the near future.

  2. A few updates on a couple of things

    The Serpae Tetra were replace by a beautiful Dwarf Cobalt Blue Gourami. The Rasbora school is now 6 and looking brilliant. ;-)

    The Breaking News!
    A 30 Gal cycling with local creek water. I'm going to "try" and create a North American Native Species tank. I have literally 30 gallons of local creek water... zoas, microbes and all sitting in my newest tank. After 6 hours of filtering and aerating, Ammonia is .25 Nitrate around 10 PPM....maybe err to the lower than 10 side. ...

  3. Day 23: 10 Gal FW with acclimated Tetra and Rasbora: FINAL BLOG for this tank cycle

    As this will be a final blog on the actual cycle and acclimation of this fish I've got to give a shout out to SlappyHappy7, Compass, and Mommy1 and Cliff (and anybody else that had input) for all their help getting this tank cycled.

    I considered myself a novice with aquariums before I found this site, but an experienced novice. I've had many tanks over the years, some with great success and some with epic failures. It wasn't until I actually decided to use the internet and research ...
