  1. My Fish Disease Notes & Treatment Plan

Something always goes south when I am least prepared for it. Since I have fish disease on the brain, notes that havenít been lost and research sites still in my phones browser I thought I would be smart and create a post for faster reaction times.

This is the way I treat issues and is not intended to be a guide for others, just my notes and plan to help my memory lapses. I use less invasive steps first such as cleaning up root causes, stock management, heat, increased air and circulation,
  2. Parameters 6.27.14

Today is day seven of the Furan 2 & Paraguard treatment. I have been worried about loosing my cycle with the meds and super cleaning. I did a full test pre 50% WC today, just to check.

    Temp 79* F
    pH 7.8
    GH 5 DGH 89.5 ppm
    KH 4 DKH 71.6 ppm
    Ammonia 0 ppm
    Nitrite 0 ppm
    Nitrate 5 ppm

low (1.9) CO2 from the charts.

Notes- If I havent lost my BB by now I probably wont, although it has only been 48 hours since
  3. Back Ground

Hi! My name is Casie and I keep tropical aquariums. Now that I have admitted my addiction lets move on.

My main tanks have always been 20, 37, and 55 gallon. I prefer those sizes. I might go up to a 90 one of these days, but not any time soon. I keep a 10 gallon QT/Hospital/Fry tank empty and waiting. I have pulled my wine cork collection out of the 5 and 3 gallons recently for a run at micro tanks sometime in the near future.

    MTS hit me hardish
  4. A few updates on a couple of things

The Serpae Tetra were replace by a beautiful Dwarf Cobalt Blue Gourami. The Rasbora school is now 6 and looking brilliant. ;-)

    The Breaking News!
A 30 Gal cycling with local creek water. I'm going to "try" and create a North American Native Species tank. I have literally 30 gallons of local creek water... zoas, microbes and all sitting in my newest tank. After 6 hours of filtering and aerating, Ammonia is .25 Nitrate around 10 PPM....maybe err to the lower than 10 side. ...

  5. Day 23: 10 Gal FW with acclimated Tetra and Rasbora: FINAL BLOG for this tank cycle

As this will be a final blog on the actual cycle and acclimation of this fish I've got to give a shout out to SlappyHappy7, Compass, and Cliff for all their help getting this tank cycled.

I considered myself a novice with aquariums before I found this site, but an experienced novice. I've had many tanks over the years, some with great success and some with epic failures. It wasn't until I actually decided to use the internet and research some issues that I found out what a cycled tank ...
