MIAMI -- Five games into his tenure with the Marlins, motor mouth manager Ozzie Guillen is returning to Miami to explain himself as a backlash builds regarding favourable comments he made about Fidel Castro. At least two local officials said Guillen should lose his job, and the chairman of the Florida Hispanic Legislative Caucus called Monday for "punitive measures" against him. Hoping to quell the political tumult, Guillen planned to leave his team briefly in Philadelphia and fly to Miami ...

Everything looked so promising for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at halftime of their season opening home contest against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday. They held a 16-9 lead at the break and were in position to open the season with a solid victory in front of the 23,852 fans that packed into Ivor Wynne Stadium. But the Blue Bombers had other ideas and with the help of three second-half interceptions of Hamilton quarterback Kevin Glenn, including an Alex Suber pick-six that gave Winnipeg the lead ...

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Milwaukee Bucks coach Larry Drew says centre John Henson will sit out Fridays game against the Orlando Magic with a sprained right wrist. Drew says Hensons wrist has been bothering him recently and he was informed prior to Friday nights game that Henson would be unavailable. Larry Sanders will start in his place. Henson played 22 minutes in the Bucks loss Wednesday night to Phoenix. He becomes the latest Bucks player to join the injured list. Guard O.J. Mayo is also out for the ...

It may well be the end of the road for Mike Weir as a fully-exempt member of the PGA Tour. The 40-year-old from Brights Grove, Ontario will probably need a top-five finish at this weekends Honda Classic in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, or face losing his fully-exempt PGA status. Should he lose that status, he will still be able to play in about 10-15 PGA events per year, but he may not be able to choose all of his events in advance. Weir missed time last season with a torn ligament in his elbow. ...
