  2. how to restart the tank after ICK

    I have a fresh water tropical fish tank . I had 4 tetras, 2 guppies , 4 mollies , 2 empress tetras , 2 Dalmatian
    recently i got ick in my tank and lost all but 2 mollies , which are still surviving. I have been doing the ick medicine and just changed the 25 % of the water.
    I want to get some some advise on how do carefully restart the tank .
    I am assuming i should sterilize the gravel , decoration ? but please advise
    before i add new fish , how do i know ...
  3. The Fugly29---Returm form Vacation; Amano missing


    After returning home from Florida this past week, I can not find the remaining Amano. I feel he may have starved to death?
    All else was good. The Nitrates remained low, but plant trimming was in order.
    I trimmed the Cabomba stems and replanted. The driftwood was finally waterlogged so I removed the rock from top of it. This enabled me to plant some Cabomba stems behind the driftwood. I cut some Anacharis and replanted it in front of the heater and along that left ...

  4. My Fish Disease Notes & Treatment Plan

    Something always goes south when I am least prepared for it. Since I have fish disease on the brain, notes that haven’t been lost and research sites still in my phones browser I thought I would be smart and create a post for faster reaction times.

  5. The Fugly29---Black Neons United


    Yesterday I moved the #6 Black Neons from the QT over to the 29g. The picture is not great, but you can see all #13 in this shot.
    I moved all the rings and lava rock from the internal filter on the QT over to both filters on the 29g.
    Theoretically...there should be no ammonia spike, but should check anyway since I left the sponge filter in the QT. After pwc yesterday, the nitrates were @5.
