  1. My Fish Disease Notes & Treatment Plan

Something always goes south when I am least prepared for it. Since I have fish disease on the brain, notes that haven’t been lost and research sites still in my phones browser I thought I would be smart and create a post for faster reaction times.

This is the way I treat issues and is not intended to be a guide for others, just my notes and plan to help my memory lapses. I use less invasive steps first such as cleaning up root causes, stock management, heat, increased air and circulation,
  2. The Fugly29---Black Neons United

Yesterday I moved the #6 Black Neons from the QT over to the 29g. The picture is not great, but you can see all #13 in this shot.
I moved all the rings and lava rock from the internal filter on the QT over to both filters on the 29g.
Theoretically...there should be no ammonia spike, but should check anyway since I left the sponge filter in the QT. After pwc yesterday, the nitrates were @5.

  3. Parameters 6.27.14

Today is day seven of the Furan 2 & Paraguard treatment. I have been worried about loosing my cycle with the meds and super cleaning. I did a full test pre 50% WC today, just to check.

    Temp 79* F
    pH 7.8
    GH 5 DGH 89.5 ppm
    KH 4 DKH 71.6 ppm
    Ammonia 0 ppm
    Nitrite 0 ppm
    Nitrate 5 ppm

low (1.9) CO2 from the charts.

Notes- If I havent lost my BB by now I probably wont, although it has only been 48 hours since
  4. Back Ground

Hi! My name is Casie and I keep tropical aquariums. Now that I have admitted my addiction lets move on.

My main tanks have always been 20, 37, and 55 gallon. I prefer those sizes. I might go up to a 90 one of these days, but not any time soon. I keep a 10 gallon QT/Hospital/Fry tank empty and waiting. I have pulled my wine cork collection out of the 5 and 3 gallons recently for a run at micro tanks sometime in the near future.

    MTS hit me hardish

I am not sure what the two Amanos are up to this morning. Though I know they do not breed in home aquaria, it look like mating behavior? ...
