has anyone ever had clams here? i was just wondering how hard is it to breed clams & if they do, does the frye present a threat to the fish in the tank since i read that the frye are somewhat parasitic for a while. thanks

the hardest part about clams is theyre filter feeders, and like the water a bit dirty, but i dont know about breeding

be very careful with bivalves. they are known to spead parasites and bacteria in the tank. also, if they die in the tank, they can wipe out all the life in your tank in a very short time. i personally do not recommend them at all.

i second that. unless you really really need them, i would say skip them

I've had some I used in a planted tank for a while... They bred (no clue how)and I did not notice any problems. However I know of plently of people who have had problems with them though.
