The convict eggs hatched. After a nasty convict bite on my finger, they are free swimming. Now, my question is, how do I feed the babies? Do i feed them crushed flakes, or do i feed the paents normal sized flakes and will they crush the flakes for the fry, or what?

Congrats Ed! Finely crushed flake will do, newly hatched bbs would be better.
Good luck with your new kids

I use walter worms, however finely crushed flake will do the job, get yourself a marble mortar and pestle... Grind! Grind! Grind!

You don't need to feed convict fry, the parents will take care of that. Watching convict parents is a real joy. They go to the gravel and kinda disturb it and release any uneaten food for their babies, I've also seen mine chew their food and spit it out in the middle of the fry for them to eat

heh, my convicts are less than spectacular parents. They kind of split up. I honestly havent seen the female for a while. Thanks for the comments.
