Hi fish newbie here

we have just got our first tropical tank, with 4 danios 1 pleco 1 snail 3 mollies n 3 placki n 4 angels arriving on soon. hello everyone

what size tank do you have? if your pleco is a common it will get about 12-18 inches long, so it needs at least a 75 gal. not sure what you mean by placki, what are they? and angels are aggressive and will probably end up killing the danios and the mollies. plus angels get big too so they need a very large tank.

keep getting such contrary advice about the angles last aquarium "specialist" in the shop said as long as we keep them fed they will leave the others alone..... I don't know what to think!!!!

never trust pet store employees, many of them have no idea what they are talking about. they dont attack the other fish cause they are hungry, they attack them because they are aggressive.

I was told the same thing, that Angels could be kept in a community tank. And I know my Mom had them when I was growing up and they did fine.

platties thats the name I was looking for, well have 2 tanks now so if it gets too rough I'll turf them out. I've kept so many other pets this is just sooooo new to me......

If you are new to tanks did you cycle it? If not you are going to have to keep a close eye on the water quality because the ammonia could spike and kill your fish. Good luck!

You never did say I don't think what size your tank is, but welcome to the forum, and good luck!
As for angels, have never kept them myself but they seem to be fish which have very differing personalities and only they will decide if they will accept tankmates or not. Some people have luck, others don't.
