should aquarium salt be added to a tank with live plants? Thanks in advance.

no. why is because live plants as the rule do not like salt.
they may or may not grow as good as they should.

So, does that mean that salt is not necessary in a tank with live plants or that it shouldn't be necessary at all or does it depend on the plants and the community entirely?
I have heard that it is beneficial to use some salt to help stave off diseases.
I have a 60L I am priming at the moment and have used 2 desert spoons of aquarium salt as a foundation only intending to add more if it suits my selected species and plants.

Salt is never necessary ina fresh water tank. It can help prevent certain diseases but those diseases will not appear in a well kept tank.
