hi, i have 3 angel fish and one black ghost knife fish (appprox 3 1/2" at the moment!), i have loads of empty space in my tank and looks quite bare, what other fish will live happily with these (wount get eaten/bullied), i would like to get a plec or loaches? they are in a 185 litre tank at the mo (i have a larger tank for when the ghostie gets bigger)thumbs2:

Sure hope you have a bigger tank for the bg as they get over 20 inches. A 2 ft fish will need a huge space.

Larger schooling tetras would work with your knife. You could keep a cloud of silver dollars with it in that 100 gallon tank in your future.

Ive got mine in with some angels and some bolivian rams
just make sure whatever you put in with it is large enough not to be considered food
and not too aggressive :thumb:

Most plecos would be fine, not the commons though. Bristlenose, gold nuggets, maybe clowns, they should all do well. I would avoid commons and rubberlips. Most loaches should be fine. I have and like yoyo and angelicus, both would probably do well. Most other loaches should do well.

i had mine in a community tank, and he kept to himself. he mainly sat in his cave, but at night left his cave for a few feet to grab some flakes.

What would make you think Rams would be aggressive? Even when breeding, Rams are awfully mellow Cichlids. They'd never bother the knife.

rams will leave the knife alone

oh!! i was looking them up on ebay to see what they looked like (and what they may cost me!) and a seller said in his listing that they can be aggressive and some other not so welcoming comments on the fish (with other fish), so i thought id pass on them then! but i am excited by your comments on the breed and i will get some :19: (how many do u think and should i stick to all male or all females or doesnt it matter if they mate up?)
