I checked pet solutions and there they are $7. The price above is for the double reds which apparently run much more.

I would probably pay $30 or more for a Royal or Queen Pleco but just can't see it for a fish when you need many of them........unless it was discus.

Unfortunately with my income, I would have to stick with cheaper fish, as well. I can love a cheap guy as well as I can love an expensive guy..........ah, fish I mean!

lol the guy who got me into keeping fish breeds fish over here in new zealand that he sells for over $1000 NZD.

Ive never seen the fish and nor do i know what they are... when he first told me i said "i didnt know blue whales could be bred in captivity:P"

Very very hard work i hear though. I believe they are a salt water fish but again i cant be 100% sure on that!

I was reading of the cockatoo again today and found this on the net.

A 90 gallon tank is too small for more than 2 females and more than 1 male. More than that and you will have deaths. They go right to breeding and will defend a large territory. Do not try to keep Apple Snails with them either, they will try to tear off their feelers and the snail will bury itself or become injured.

Can this be correct. 3 little fish in a 90 gallon tank is all?

What dwarf cichlids would go in a 55 then? Gez, I want more than 3 little fish.

i dont think thats correct, arnt there people here who keep them happily in smaller tanks than that?

Well, it blows away my idea of having a tank of them. Quite frankly, I do not want to start in with all the aggression and babies again!

Guess I will get a few rainbows instead. Heck with it.

some fish need lots of room, but 90g for 3 fish is ridiculous

That's balony. Apistos are secreative breeders. In a large, established, planted tank, say over 40 gallons, you won't know they've bred until you see juviniles. Even breeding they are mellow fish.
You could keep a trio (one boy, two girls) in a properly maintained 10 gallon.

THANK YOU! Another of our members has a planted tank with Apistos and he sure has more than 3. This didn't make sense to me either.

Now I will consider them again!
