i have 6 gourami's all different kinds and i was wondering if anyone knew what kind of fish go well with them. i know it should be something around the same size but the place we go to have so many to choose from and i dont always trust the people working there to tell us the best advice. danios? tetras? rainbow shark? nothing that will get over 4"-5"......we only have a 29 gallon tank.:11:

I am putting 2 dwarf gouramis in my 29 gallon (as soon as its finished cycling)...and i'm putting in 6 guppies (or rosy barbs(?), not sure).....then 4 oto cats & 4 panda cories.

you dont want anything that attacks slow fish, so maybe

the dwarf gourami
6 cory's
8 neon tetras
2 platys

The better advice that I could give you is...

Get a compatibility chart, print it, got to the pet store and get what you like that they have and is in your compatibility chart.

Thanks,

Luis

Definatly corys. No tiger barbs, they are a bit too nippy, and the long barbels of the Gourami would be suceptible to attack from the little buggers.

6 Gouramis is a bit much by themselves for a 29. What is your filtration, waterchange schedule, and waterchange amount?

ya im starting to notice how six gourami's is a bit much. the gold is the most aggressive and territorial, and the dwarf is getting to be territorial too but he doesnt chase as much. the sunset and the paradise seem to be the calmest and they get along with the blue best. so i might just keep those three and maybe trade is the banded, gold and dwarf for some corys or danios? and two sucker fish

I have two chinese algae eater with my gouramis and they don't even pay attention to them. They are still smaller than any of my gouramis.
