Hello, My name is Randy I've just joined a minute or so ago I was brousing around the internet punching up sites for gourami's and your site came up so I decided to join. I belong to at least 3 other forums and visit each one daily or as often as my wife allows me to get on. At present time I have a 5 gallon Aquascene tank gotten from Petsmart with a male betta in it. The tank is not filtered or cycled at the present time however it is heated to a constant 80 degrees, Angel gets Hikari Betta pellets regularily with some freeze dried bloodworms and Betta flakes a few times each week for supplemental food. I am always in need of more info and knowledge of aquariums and fish things, I am in the process of setting up a 29 gallon as soon as I get a good filter--I figure I'll either use white pool sand or buy the pea gravel from lowes or home depot as substrate for the tank. My favorite fish would probably be Clown Loaches, Angels = Sailfin Mollies (perferrably the gold) pretty much in that order, however I think it quite interesting and nice keeping bettas. As a child I had 1 29 gallon long with 2 albino channel catfish, 3 3 spot gourami's, pair of gold sailfin mollies a bumble bee cat of some sort and a few other fish including an angel fish---now I'm aware I was probably grossly overstocked with fish that probably didn't go together but hey it worked for 2 yr. don't know how but miracles do happen.
I live in Pennsylvania, moved here from Illinois this June---I work as an X-ray technician and 1st and most importantly I'm a God fearing/loving Christian. We go to the Assemblies of God here in town. I love 1st off reading and serving God/Jesus, then photography, animals, fish, camping and I also love to fish--perferrably catfishing. My desire one day is to have a 700 gallon or larger tank with a large school of Clown Loaches and other beautiful fish to enjoy. I also love learning about fish and other animals, I may not have many but I figure when the time is right I should be well prepared or know where to go to get me prepared. At the clinic we are presently in they have a 150 gallon wall aquarium currently not in use and I'm in the process of trying to obtain this tank some how for a later setup opportunity.
I guess I've raddled on much to much, I'm glad to be here and what ever knowledge I may have concerning fish will be gladly shared--I believe that there is always room for improvement no matter how knowledgeable an individual may be--and for me I've always been open for criticism and correction, and I can learn from anyone as long it's in a peaceful manner. GOD BLESS.

700 gallon??!
Wow, what sort of dimensions would that be - 12' by 3' by 3'?I'm not sure I just thought it'd be a nice place for family to gather at night and enjoy the fish. 7' x 4' x 40" is what I figured it would be, I'd have a good ole time getting it filled with some nice peaceful pretty fish.

I just want to say again thanks to everyone, this is an awesome site and so far it has been my favorite site from the last 2 yrs. It seems everyone gets along great here and you all seem to enjoy each others company, I guess that's what you call an Aquatic Family.
