I have done some reading about people putting bamboo in there hang on backs and wanted to see what you guys think. They call it bamboo but from what they are describing it sounds like lucky bamboo.

Bamboo gets pretty tall so it would probably just fall over in the filter. Maybe you could pot it and elevate it in the tank somehow. Maybe up on some rocks so the top is out of the water?

As long as you can keep it in there steady it will do fine. Im not sure of its ability to remove nutrients but it will do more then nothing.

I just read that flouride kills lucky bamboo and there is some in my water. Is there any other low light bog plants I could have growing in filter/tank riparium style?

I would be afraid the roots would clog up the pump, or filter media. I have my Lucky Bamboo set in a small filter box that came with my 2 gallon betta cube. I cut the bottom off of it, put the Lucky Bamboo in the filter box, which has suction cups on it, stuck it to the side of the tank, and secured it with small bungy straps. I can post pictures if needed.
In one of my Betta tanks, I have a philodendron rooted in a soap dish I got from Walmart, that has suction cups on it. I threaded the philodendron clippings through the drain slots of the soap dish, and stuck it to the side of the tank with the suction cups. Pictures upon request.

I would love to see pictures. I have read that some people have pothos (also called philodendron I believe) growing right out of there hobs with the roots directly in the bio media. :hmm3grin2orange:

Philodendron in a soap dish in Betta Tank. The Betta loves to sleep inside the soap dish amongst the roots.

Use a plastic shower caddy with suction cups to have it stick to the aquarium wall.
