I am looking at 2 different lighting fixtures right now...
One is a coralife with just 1-65 watt 10k daylight and 1-65 actinic light.
The other USA Satellite one has:
1-65 watt 50/50 bulb with 6700k/10k daylight bulb and 1-65 actinic 50/50 with 440 nm and 460 nm bulb.
Which one is better, the coralife seems better because it's all the stronger light (10000k) etc...

The K number is the color of the light - what is the bulb for?
6700 K is intended specifically for plants
10000 K is bluish in color and can be used for plants and some marine life
I use the 10000K's for my plants just because I like the blueish color

It is for my 10 gallon nano reef I am setting up.
I ended up getting the Satellite with 2 different spectrums of daylight and the 2 different actinic ranges.
I have pretty consistently read that the 50/50 (10k and 03 actinic) bulbs are really suited for salt tanks and that the 67k bulbs are better for planted tanks.

Could you link me to the sites that say that. I am not saying I disagree with you I would just like to see.
A kid I know has orbits on his 55 gallon reef and he has tried other CF's and he says he likes these the best. It provides the corals with different ranges of light and such.
And this has a 65 watt 50/50- 10k/67k
And then a 65 watt 50/50- 440 and 460 nm bulb.

You can Google the rest as I did during my research.
