Hello! My name is Nicole and this is my first time here. We LOVE our fish tank and now that I'm working at a job where I have a computer and have plenty of time to kill, I figured I'd get involved with some other aquarium lovers. We currently have:

1 Black Skirt Hi-Fin Tetra
1 Black Balloon Molly (Female)
1 White Balloon Molly (Male)
1 Lemon Tetra
1 Chinese Algae Eater
2 Algae-Eating Ghost Shrimp
(Temporarily) 14 baby Dalmation Balloon Mollies - Born 9/14/2007

Feel free to stop by and say hi!

HI! im new here too, just joined yesterday. your aquarium sounds great!. right now i have a 29 gallon tank with 6 gourami's in it. gold, blue, giant, dwarf, sunset and paradise. the last three are newbies which we added two nights ago. when did you get your algea eaters? we have had our tank set up for about 3 1/2 weeks now and i want to get one but im not sure if there is enough for him to eat. hope your babies are doing well!

We got our Chinese Algae Eater about 3 months after our tank had been set up. We just basically waited until we could see some algae forming on our plants and gravel. But now that we have the algae eaters, our tank is spotless! Almost too spotless...I'm worried that the tank is too small for him, so I might send him back (he's grumpy anyway and keeps pestering the new fish that we put in) and opt for some more algae eating ghost shrimp.

And I like your picture! We've got a prego balloon molly that looks just like it.

What do baby mollies look like? These were yellowish and never moved. i could see their eyes clearly but I am not sure if they were stillborn or what.

Ours were really tiny when they were first born, but they were definitely swimming and would swim about if we put food in or stuck a finger in the tank. I suppose they're kind of yellowish though. How old are yours? I know the first couple days they were really slow and would just kind of sit there. They're much more active now. Let me know how things turn out!

they were yellowish. They didn't survive I guess. They never moved, never did anything. Even if I swished the water a little they did nothing. There were about 5 of them that I seperated from the rest of the fish. The others were eaten. We didn't realize there were babies until it was almost too late. I have another pregnant Molly so I will watch closer this time.

That happened to us the first time too. I have no idea what went wrong. But our next batch (or I should say our current batch) are doing splendidly. So don't feel bad. I think it's really common the first few times. I'm sure the next ones will do fine.

LOL ok Whew! I thought I had done something wrong to kill them. I test my water daily. Do regular water changes etc. I treat these fish better than my own birth children >:p
