I did a 50% water change on a 72-gallon bow front with the wet/dry filter. The problem that I have is I can't get my water to look crystal clear. Before my 72 gallon tank, I had a 30 gallon tank and the water in that was very clear.

So far, I put water clear in the tank, but it is still cloudy. Even though, it is cloudy I am able to see the fishes in the tank. The type of fishes I got is Malawi and South American Cichlids. I also have a Rio 2100 pump, which I think could be the problem. Any suggestions-anyone?

Is the glass/acrylic clean?

How long has the tank been up for? Do a water test and post the results and I can help more.

The aquarium is glass and it's clean. I had the tank up for about 4 months. I did a water test and the Ph is at 8.0 - 8.2. Nitrate is at 0.3 mg/l. The ammonia is at 0. Even though the results show me my water is fine, I still have cloudiness. :?

It could be the substrate. did you use any laterite?

No, I did not use any laterite. I mention my problem to the owner of where I buy my fish from and he told me that it could be my filteration system. So, I went out and bought a Penguin 100 and a Penguin 350 BIO-wheel power filter. I must admit that ever since I bought the filters, my water has become a whole lot less cloudier. However, it's not as clear as it use to be.
