I just recently added these (2) products to my 55 gallon tank for the first time, and it has raised my pH and hardness to desired levels. Problem is my water was somewhat cloudy before and is very cloudy now.
1) I performed a 25% water change, to no avail.
2) I waited about a week and did a 50% water change while vacuuming the gravel, still no luck.
3) Next, I tried (2) different types of water clarifiers, still no luck.
4) This past weekend, I added some Bio-Spira thinking the water changes and vacuuming had upset my nitrogen cycle and caused a bacterial bloom. Two days later and adding a second power filter to the tank, still no change.
What am I missing out on here? My nitrates are currently reading about 60 ppm and I may need to do another water change soon. My "tap" water used for changes is processed by ion exchange and reverse osmosis.
Thanks!!
Reggie
