Congrats on the new fish, but they ain't platies.

Platies are livebearers, which means that they give birth to fully formed baby fish. No eggs.

So what else have you got in the tank?

Livebearers expel undeveloped eggs when they give birth to the fry - that why there were some of both

Congrats!

Robbie's got it. I've heard of Platys giving birth to more than 20 live fry...but for some reason she miscarried a lot of eggs.

Well, you learn something everyday. Now at least, if we see eggs in our tank we won't think our lone catfish has been sneaking out at night.:hmm3grin2orange:
