They are here if you have not seen them.

Forum rules (http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/aquariumforum/showthread.php?t=20511)

A rule I did not really get (after I read them), was about ones signature and how it messes up some peoples viewing experience.
That rule was brought to my attention after I maga sized my sig. awhile back.
I know its time consuming but everyone who registers should be first made to read the forum rules before being able to post.

Edit; Rule number 5 seems to be broken alot lately. I know when you want an answer ASAP it bites to wait but thats the way it is. This is a friendly aquarium forum with alot of info and great people who relate their experiences. It is not an On Demand Info Site. Sorry for my Rant.

I have never read them, nor have I ever clicked a link to access them.

I like to live dangerously :afro:

I have read them a few times. I like to know what rules I am breaking when I break them.

What.... Wait.... We have rules here ? :hmm3grin2orange: :hmm3grin2orange:

Just kidding

Even before I was a mod I did read through them just to make sure there wasn't any out of the ordinary that I needed to be aware of.

It will come as no surprise that I have had that page kindly pointed out to me on more than one occasion. :14: (blush) :hmm3grin2orange:

lol @ 850R

To tell you the truth, I think I have, but I can't really remember. I know I've read threads concerning the rules (like the signature one)...it would have been way back when I first signed up...you need to add "Can't remember if I did or not" to the poll, LadyH...

Unless someone is asking for a signature at the bottom of it, I don't generally read any rules or agreements...or instruction manuals...until I find I have to.

I DO read anything I sign, however. And being net-noid (paranoid about my privacy on the net) I do read privacy statements more often than I'd like.

Because rules are often overlooked, now and then it's a good reminder for the newbies to check them out. Signature rules get broken the most often, I think. With so many using cellular phones, it's nice if they don't have to scroll past 20 lines of signatures.

@Jenn.....LOL And never have you needed to be told to go read them. See what a good girl you are.

OK who was the rebel that checked; Don't care what the rules are .

That should be made public.

Surprisingly that one was not me.

@ Hobbs, perhaps I have just learned to conduct myself in an inappropriately yet ethical way....:hmm3grin2orange:

I will be honest and say no. why not you ask? Because I figure it's common sense not to insult people directly, to spam or try and sell something, to argue Religeon or pollitics on a site where we talk about fish, Tanks and everything that revolves around that hobby.

Well I'll admit I don't think I've ever read the rules here. A lot is just common sense stuff like Surfdog said I think. I figure just conduct myself on the forum just like I do in my everyday life. Figure if you wouldn't say it in real life to someone, the same goes for on the forum. I think at worst I may make a few smartass remarks every now and again or a bad attempt at humour.

There are still alot of votes to go.

I would hate to drive one block without rules. I think some of the forum's I've seen either had no rules or no Mods because they sure did fight and call each other lots of nasty names. LOL

Hehe, you know that's how I ended up on this forum. The first fish forum I joined was like that, the whole mood the forum was negative.

To be honest I did not because like posted before it is commonsense especially if you have been a member of any other forums.

I was once a Mod for a Saltwater Sport Fishing board and my God you want talk about mayhem and us boys being boys with well my fish was bigger then yours and my boat is better his and clubbing each other over the head with ego's bigger the Mt. Everest LOL that was a real treat to control and almost became a full time job!! Out of respect I will read them now ;)

I had not read the rules until today because I did not know where they were. I used to have a signature over 6 lines and then someone told me (one of the mods). Now I work really hard to keep it to 6 or under lines (hard at times). I think that the person who clicked dont care should have their user name made public.

That person had to be a member at least 3 months I think (I should read the rules) to vote. Obviouslt hasen't screwed up or woulden't be here to vote. Maybe has common sense as well.

What just occurs? Rules from being in an ideal world or an Ideal world? Dohh...

Lady Hobbs

The 3 month rules is only for voting in the comps.

The person who didn't care was the person I had just posted about promoting in the forum.

The false sense of security in hiding behind a computer monitor is an instant hard on for some people...they just have to behave like proverbial dicks there after.

I do sometimes wish monitors were permeable for a swift back hand to the face...

I have, however if I was tested RIGHT NOW I probably won't remember most. I just read them one by one and see whether or not I'm breaking any of them. So far so good.

Thanks to all who have taken a look at the rules. This will save some confusion later perhaps. Kudo's.
