heres the new brain coral and zoanthids (no pics of zoanthids though). i picked this brain corals since its ready to split, so i should have 2 within a week.

also, theres the new fish, the dottyback. the rest of the corals come friday.

and the last pic of the whole tank, i want more LR. theres 1lb/gallon in it (20.5 to be exact) so that was 160$. lol, SW is expensive. the tank doesnt even look filled with LR fully

You need orginiziational skills. It seems like in every picture you take, you see hoses from filters, and food cans scattered about, lol.

Nice corals. I forgot, whats your lighting like?

lol, its cord city down there, but it doesnt really bug me. i have all my tanks in the basement, so theres bound to be cords. to prevent mold from all the tank evaporation, i bought a de-humidifier. works perfect.

ive got medium-high lighting, the brain coral, zoanthids, clown goby, and the dottyback. friday im gonna get a shrimp, some turbo snails, and some more corals. and they have a nice 96W 50/50 at the store im gonna buy, so then with my current lights i would have high lighting

My LFS is having $5 a pound sale on fiji rock right now. My buddy works there and he says it should be on sale for a few more weeks, I am tempted to go buy everything now but I haven't been making anything for money as I have no job now. (college)

zackish, thats a good deal, plus its best to get all your LR at once so you dont have to cure any later on

Ya, I really wanna hop on this SW tank but like I said it's the $$$.
That kid has a lot of powerheads and equipment laying around he said and he can get me employee discount at the LFS so I am tempted to just start it.
I figure if I just do a regular 10 all I will really need is to buy the light and the LR. Corals obviously would be where the money really comes in but I would just start with a few and maybe 2 percula clowns.

From what everyone has been telling me, you can only fit one percula in a ten gallon.

the brain was 30$, and theyre easy to take care of, not demanding at all. mines just getting ready to split so i should have 2 (thought it would split about a week ago but its slow)

A coral that size around here would cost like $55. That looks bigger than the frags around here.
Anyways, cocoa, I am joining this Connecticut Area Reef society club.
There is meetings in different places all over CT each month and they have giveaways, raffles for stuff, and people give frags to new reefers like myself. It is only $20 for the year membership, I am so stoked about going to the first meeting next month.

thats what i do. here the aquarium club has weekly auctions where stuff goes cheap. even regular auctions have tanks that go cheap (got my 33g with everything, plus stand and AC110 for 40$)

Ya they also have group buys and stuff and I get 10-20% off from most aquarium stores around CT.

thats why i actually got the brain coral so cheap, some stores i mainly go to gave me 15% off of stock.

We have a scavenger hunt and prizes right down the road from me this weekend but the actual follow up meeting is at a place like an hour away. I would feel like an idiot if I just went to the scarvenger hunt and not the meeting hahaha
