At my local Pet shop someone bought in about 30 white cichlids with black vertical stripes that go right down its sides it is shaped some what like a peacock cichlid do you have any idea what they are

Hmmm can't really say what it is than. Can be a number of african cichlids but a pic would surely help.

could be a white zebra Altolamprologus calvus. The white variety is found exclusively at Chaitika.

they look like that only bigger gaps in between the fins and the head isnt as long and a bit rounder

i have another one, its shaped like an acar but it is pink and has shiny pink scales like a blue acara has shiny blue scales along its cheeks

the first cichlid i was unsure of was called a Red Emperor and the second was a Juel Cichlid

well do you know of the red emperor cichlids or is that the wrong name for them?

Emperor cichlids usually refer to a Malawi cichlid. but since there are no real rules to common names a fish can be caled ust about anything. Do you think you could get a pc of it?

sure ill take my sisters camera down on monday when i take in our Peace Doves (wve got to many they breed alot) and snap a couple of shots
