For over a year and a half ive had hollow logs that were intended for my Cockateils to breed in but never got around to fixing them up plus they use the breeding box provided and i was curious the logs are dried out of its living jucies so if i were to boil the branches would they be right for my tank?

Probably. Fill a bucket with water and put the log in there and scrub it crazy. then change the water and let it soak and change the water again. keep changing the water until nothing comes out of the log. Also use a test strip to see if it is releasing any chemicals.
