I was checking out the compatibility charts just for reference and I noticed that Dwarf Gouramis are not compatible with Corys? Why is that? I figured Corys could go with any fish that wouldn't eat them or have different water requirements.

I dont think there would be a problem.

To be frank, some of those "compatibility charts" are a bit screwy if you ask me. I have a friend with a 30 gallon tanke, 7 neons, 2 dwarfs, and 5 or so corys, and there is no problem.

I honestly keep thinking it all depends more on the individual fish (unless the species is known to be aggressive), but when I saw that the cory and dwarf weren't compatible....it just struck me as a bit odd.
Thanks Matt :)

The only time my gouramis pick on my corys is when I feed the corys with the lights on because the gouramis like to eat their food. Other than that they are usually too busy beating up on each other.

some charts are whack. however, it depends on fish too. i had a fullgrown albino oscar in a community tank a few years ago with fish as small as cardinals and cory's. he never bugged them once. he was the nicest oscar around.

the gourami and corys arent a problem at all, gouramis are topdwellers and cory's bottom feeders so no hard done

I usually don't listen to the compatability charts, you can usually tell what will work or not. I have my gold gourami in with my two cories and he doesn't bother them at al.

I have 3 male dwarf gouramis in a 40 long tank with about 6 corys. No problems.
